It only took several years but I finally got around to finishing my new website.
The old one looked great, in my opinion, but it just wasn't flexible enough to handle what I wanted it to do. I'm sure many of you have tried to view the site on a mobile device but found it didn't work. A handful of you wanted to purchase race photos but you couldn't even see them on the site because there wasn't a decent enough folder structure so I had to show them in a Flash gallery. Eventually I put the photos on Facebook but that wasn't enough either.
Well, welcome to the future!
As of this writing, my new site is nothing more than a glorified photo viewer and a place where you can leave comments (thanks to Facebook). The site is still under active development to get the rest of the features ready. I put priority on getting the photo gallery up and going so that it would be ready for tomorrow's Frostbike race. Here are some of the features that will be coming within the next week or two:
One more thing about the blate/bib tagging. I'll start this with the photos from tomorrow's Frostbike with the rest following soon after. Right now I have nearly 3500 photos to go through so it'll take some time. Hopefully you'll find it as useful as I think it'll be for you.
If you happen to see any problems while you're going around the site, please don't hesitate to use the Contact page or send me a message on the Philip de Vries Photography Facebook page to let me know.
Have a great weekend and I'll see you at Frostbike!
Philip
