Do you have a newsletter?

No, not at this time. I can't say I'm much of a writer and I don't work enough events to really have a need to pubish a newsletter. I will write a news post for any upcoming events so you can check that every once in a while.

Why do I need to create an account to create a cart?

It's just the way I did it. I do plan on adding more features which will require having an account so at least it won't be a one-use-only thing.

How do I download a photo after I have purchased it?

Once you've purchased a photo, you can simply go to that photo in the gallery and hit the “Download” button. There are three ways you can get to that photo:

  1. You can browse the gallery to the photo.
  2. From your Account page, there is a section near the bottom called “Downloadable Photos”. Clicking on the thumbnails will take you directly to the photo.
  3. Again, from your Account page, click on the order where you purchased the photo. The thumbnail in the order will take you to the photo.

I will be adding a way to download the photos in your order as a ZIP file so you don't have to download them individually.

I don't like the photo I just bought. How about a refund?

Unfortunately I can't give a refund for a downloaded digital file. The reason is because there is nothing which says you didn't do anything with the file and there is no way that we can verify that the file was deleted in a way that it can't be recovered. Please keep in mind that this is purely a business decision and not a personal one. All of the files I offer allow you to do basically whatever you want with them and you preview the image before adding it to your cart and again before you place your order so I can only assume you were knowledgeable in selecting the photo(s) you wanted.

One exception to this is if something happened during the payment process and you did actually pay for the photo but were not able to download the file. If this happens you can let me know about it and I'll know immediately if this is the case or not and I can either fix the order allowing you to download the file or I can refund the price paid for the photo.

Please review the Terms page for more information.

What happens if I lose my downloaded photo?

No problem. Just log into your account and you can download all of your photos again. There is no limit to the number of times you download them.

Why do you use PayPal?

To be honest, I don't expect to make a living off of selling photos on this site. If I sell one photo per month, that will cover my hosting costs. Using PayPal in the way that I do allows me to collect payments and only incur costs on each transaction. If I were to move to a more integrated solution, I'd have to pay yearly for an SSL certificate and monthly for payment processing charges and still have to pay a charge per transaction. If I find I'm making enough to cover all those costs, I will work on integrating payments into my site.

Do I need a PayPal account to pay for my photos?

The short answer is yes and no. If you have a PayPal account you can use that to make your payment. If you don't have an account with PayPal and you don't want one, there should be an option to just use your credit card.

What are your fees for working an event?

That is best handled by asking me this question using my Contact page and sending me a few details. Unfortunately, it's not a simple question to answer because every event is different.

Can you tell me more about the photo licenses?

Yes I can. Here is a breakdown of what they mean:

  • Creative Commons
This means that you can use the photo for whatever use you'd like, free of charge.
  • Personal Use Only
You can use this photo as a Facebook or Google+ profile or cover image, you can print it out and put it on your fridge, or you can post it to your personal blog or website. You can generally use the photo for whatever personal purpose you want as long as you're not making money off of it.
  • Royalty-free Commercial Use
This allows you to use the photo for any commercial purpose without having to pay me any royalty.
  • No Use Allowed
This one is pretty straight-forward. You can only look at it—you can't use it for any purpose.

The most common license on my site is the Personal Use Only license.

You can read the fine print on the Terms page.

Can I purchase a photo with another license?

I can't say “no” right away. Let me know what you'd like to do through my Contact page and we should be able to figure something out. Don't forget to include the reference number from the photo.

Why can't you email me the photos I bought?

Short answer: the files are too big. You will be receiving a high resolution image which, while individually might be okay for email, more than a couple becomes a problem. Having you download your purchases is the easiest way to ensure you will receive them.

With that said, I am working on ways to improve this so you do not have to go through the photos one-by-one to download them.
